I have a beta version of a romhack that requires the -debug argument when running it in MAME. In Windows I would just launch the ROM with that argument via the command line, but I was wondering if there was any way of doing this for lr-mame2003 on Retropie.

I'd just want to be using this argument for one ROM in particular, not for the entire core.

The MAME 0.78 debugger code may not actually be functional in the MAME 2003 core. Someone else may know that for sure.

If you haven't, I'd suggest that you try the hacked ROM with the original MAME 0.78 software before trying to set up lr-mame2003 in order to have a baseline.
