I know I'm not the only person with PS3 controller issues, but I've found no one else on the internet with my particular problem.

I am starting fresh with a new RetroPie 3.8.1 install on my RPi 3, and I am following the tutorials

, and here. My OEM PS3 controller works out of the box when connected by USB cable. But when I go to attempt to connect it via bluetooth, as you can see in the image above, the option

      310 Install PS3 controller driver

      is not there.

I have tried this before on previous versions of Retropie. In fact I try again every new version hoping it will work. Sometimes the option is there sometimes it's not. Even the times it was there, I have never actually succeeded in getting a wireless connection. I've tried CLI blueman or bluez or whatever installs. The closest I can get is wired control, then I unplug the cable, press the PS button, get the 4 lights blinking, and that's it.

If anyone can tell me how to enable options 809 through 812 (as well as the Kodi option the video led me to believe would be there) OR can get my PS3 controller working wirelessly, I would be sincerely grateful.

What about "803 bluetooth - Configure Bluetooth Devices" ?

The number has changed. Try under 812. Instead of looking at just the number read through all of them looking for one that says pair ps3 controller or something like that. If not, If you update the retropie-setup in the retropie-setup that you are in then go to manage packages then go into manage driver packages then click on 812 ps3 controller

the numbers are dynamic. It sounds like you have updated to retropie 4.x in which case you need to install it from drivers first as mentioned by @edmaul69
