Strange Behaviour when adding new roms
-
Pi Model or other hardware: (Pi 3, )
Power Supply used: (Original Power Supply)
RetroPie Version Used (4.3.10)
Built From: (Downloaded official image)
USB Devices connected: USB Wireless Keyboard, IPAC2
Controller used: IPAC 2
Skin - Hursty
Emulator - All of themI have a strange issue when adding new roms to my directories. I'm adding games by using filezilla and simply copy them straight over into the relevant directory, I also have this issue when adding files through direct server (apple)
If I added the following games
DJ Boy
Final Blow
AfterburnerI also get the following entries on the game select list
._DJ Boy
._Final Blow
._AfterburnerSo everything gets a double entry, when I select these ._ files it doesn't load the game, only the original rom will work.
It messes up my scraping because its always trying to add videos and art work for both files. Not to mention the fact that it looks messy and is confusing for people who play the machine.
Could anyone shine any light as to why this is happening and more importantly how to fix it?
TIA

@baviaannl it's a mac problem. How to solve: don't use a mac.
These files can be safely deleted.
Edited to add link https://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/14980/why-are-dot-underscore-files-created-and-how-can-i-avoid-them
I especially like how these files are described as "turds". -

As @jonnykesh said, they're added when you copy the game roms using the macOS Finder - although not in all cases it seems. You can safely delete them from the ROMs folder (see https://discussions.apple.com/thread/6997793).
