I've messed up my keybinding, associating tab key with ui_cancel.

And now I can't enter the config menu in lr-mame2010.
I've been spending the last many days searching for the location of where the 2010 version reads its keybinding, with no luck.

There are a lot of references to /opt/retropi/configs retro-arch / all etc, but alas I can't see any keybindings there anywhere.
      I've also looked in /home/pi/RetroPi/roms/ arcade / mame2010 etc.
I've even removed lr-mame2010 and readded it again using the retropi setup menu.

I know there is a custom setup somewhere, as I can see the changes in /home/pi/cfg (?can't remember the dir atm)/default.cfg but these are overwritten each time the emulator starts up.

I'm running Motion Blue 5, but my guess is that the base setup is still retro-pi, hence asking here first.

@tomse I don't use mame2010 but you should check in /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/arcade/mame2010/cfg/ and delete the default.cfg file. That should restore any changes you made to the defaults.

Thank you, it was a good guess, but I have no 2010 (lr-mame* / mame*) folders in roms or any sub directories.
at best I have mame2003 which has it's cfg sub dir as empty.

For lr-mame2010 the default.cfg file should be located at /home/pi/cfg/default.cfg. As @jonnykesh mentioned, delete that and you should be good.

@mediamogul said in lr-mame2010 bound menu key with ui_cancel - can't enter menu any longer:

              /home/pi/cfg/default.cfg

Uh, why would it be there? That makes no sense.

Unfortunately, it's been that way from the beginning and has never been fixed. Same goes for the other usual suspects for the core such as 'artwork', 'vram' ...etc. I believe it's a known issue. lr-mame2010 just doesn't get a lot of development love.

That is great news. I really only use it to play 'Gorf', but it's a game I play all the time, so it's most welcome.

Thats weird, I did try and delete /home/pi/cfg/default.cfg
                      it even says it's autogenerated.
Regardless deleting it now it works, thanks a lot :-)
