Hello Looking to put together a nespi case with a raspberrypi3 running Emulationstation/retropie. I have like a 2tb setup ES on my windows PC. So just want to build my cousins son a mini Nes with everything on it. Before i buy any parts I thought i should ask people who have been threw a pie setup if the parts look like they would all be compatable

Use the 64g microSD for boot/meta-art-snaps:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073JYVKNX/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

1 foot long USB 3.0 Cable A to Micro B for wd drive:
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GNSFJT0/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ALQVTOPLTKY0E&psc=1

WD Drive I want to shuck and hopefully squeeze in just under the lid (Should be same dimensions as a pidrive)

Use this guys script to run roms off the USB WD drive.

    Pi 3 B with better plug(2.5A):

    Dual Pi fan:

Nespi Nes case with soft shutdown/reset kit ready:(I gots no solder skills)

Link to modded Nespi install and setup:

Will be my 1st pi build and as i havnt put scripts into one or used one. Im worried if:

Will the USB harddrive script and the shutdown/reset script work together?

If the drive does fit in the case i should just need a single USB 3.0 Cable A to Micro B cable for it?

I shouldnt need this triple y-cable for the WD pidrive because im not booting off the WD just using for Roms?
    https://www.wdc.com/products/wdlabs/wd-pidrive-cable.html

That better 2.5A pi3 plug should be good enough?
    Thanks guys

If you plan on setting the hard drive on top of the pi to fit into that case. You aren't going to get any cooling effects from the fans. There won't be much airflow because the drive is blocking the air holes in the top of the case.

What systems are planning on using with the pi? Cause you might be able to just get a 128 gig sd card and do what you want with that without having to have a hard drive in there. That would get you every non-cd game I can think of plus images and videos.

deleted case ethernet port, case door hinges came out for room, glued closed. had to put dedicated power to the hd to spin right so extra usb port grafted to the drives power wires while data wires go to pie. runs cool enough 50 degrees-ish so far. case closes tighter than pics when screwed together. just took some quick snaps to share. think it turned out pretty good.
