Trying to identify a game I remember...
-
Trying to remember what the name was of an arcade game. I googled a description of it but didn't come up with anything.
Any help appreciated.
- Was a top-down shmup style game
- You drove a tank around the screen with two joysticks similar to Battle Zone and the screen view would rotate around you rather than the tank rotating.
- You could push both sticks outward to the sides and your tank would rear up and you could fire a ballistic heavy bomb shot.
That's about all I can remember.

Ah! Think I found it.

@alturis That looks like a fun game - going to give it a try :)

Man, I am getting old. The rotating screen actually makes me a little dizzy in my old age. Takes a little getting used to. But overall playable and fun. ;)
-
@alturis Ahh shoot, I actually could've helped you on that one, but you figured it out before I even read your thread. ;)
This one caught my attention a while ago. But I guess it's only playable with a modern controller, because you have to use both sticks and some buttons. I don't see how one could do that on the average control panel of most arcade cabinets or bartops. If I'm wrong, I'd be very interested in a usable Retroarch control layout.

@clyde Actually it works pretty well with my setup.
You use the player 2 stick bound as player 1's right stick.
And you use your pinky for the fire button which happens to rest right over a button on the right. Not exactly like the arcade but workable and playable.Original arcade sticks

@alturis Without doing research myself, I presumed that the original had two flight sticks. Thanks for your setup, I will try it eventually. My buttons are very stiff at the moment, which may be too much for my pinky. But I'm planning to replace their switches for smoother ones, as you know from your other thread. :)
edit: Alternatively, I'm thinking about playing this with two players – one drives the tank and the other manages the buttons. ;)

Lol... actually I did that with my son playing Battle Zone too. Definitely a good time. Like having a tank driver and tank gunner.
