The only fix we can do this side is to disable the anti spam, or reduce the points needed for a post to be considered badly flagged, which would affect all users. Let's see what happens with your form submitted to akismet first. I can remove your new account if you want to try switching the email on the other one.

When I wrote this post saying "You can add a spice to your playing using the RetroAchievements feature" the message wasn't posted on the first try. I received a message saying something about spam.

I'm not sure if we have such a filter here, but I was thinking that it was blocked due to the word "spice". Then I tried again and the message was posted...

I will wait for their response. Im afraid to change the email and then have both my emails not working. If they dont fix it i will just use this account. I only post on 2 forums and atariage doesnt use akismet, so it has to do with this but its no big deal, i just hope it doesnt happen again on this account

I am also having an issue with my posts being flagged as spam. I am trying to reply to my own thread found here: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/2285/help-configuring-shortcut-codes-for-mupen64plus/2 and I keep getting a message saying "post content was flagged as spam by akismet". I have submitted the form on their site letting them know that my account was flagged.

For reference this is my post content which IMO doesn't look spammy at all: http://pastebin.com/k62s69kJ

EDIT: It seems to have been fixed now, before I wasn't able to submit this or any other post.

I am going to disable akismet for now, due to the problems. We might get away with it - we had a lot of spam a month or so ago, which continued to happen even with our anti spam measures, but seems to have mostly stopped now.

There is a facility to ignore akismet results for people with X amount of reputation, however, this doesn't help new users.

Now disabled. Apologies for any inconvenience. We may have to re-enable it though if spam gets out of control again (We already have a captcha, email address validation, and some additional measures, however much spam these days is done by people, so it's difficult to stop.)

@BuZz I am corresponding with Akismet in regards to my issues and they aren't sure what is wrong. They have asked me to fill out another more detailed form explaining the issue. As edmaul69 did I decided to logout of my flagged account and attempt to create a new one.
I went one step further for testing purposes and signed in to my PIA VPN, choose a random endpoint, and signed up for a new account with a different email address so I could come to this thread and report that I was having problems. Upon attempting to submit my reply my new account was immediately denied for the same reason claiming my post content was flagged as spam by akismet.

You might want to re-enable the akismet. Korean spam is out of control in gaming section..... I am sticking with this username because i have 3 rep points so i can post as i need to and i dont want to lose that. I only had 2 on my other one and somehow lost one point. Im assuming from the spam report.

@edmaul69 @BuZz Yeah that didn't take long for the spam bots to catch wind of. Hopefully akismet can sort out whatever is going on with legitimate user accounts being flagged.

@edmaul69 Akismet told me the same thing:
"Hi Chris,

From looking at your test comment, Akismet doesn't have any of your information and would not be classifying your comments as spam. I'd recommend getting in touch with the admins of that site to see if there's any other blacklist or anti-spam plugins being used. Perhaps they have a block on some VPN endpoints, you creating a new account with a new email and IP address would indicate that.

Any other plugins are most likely irrelevant since the message we both received clearly stated that we were being blocked by akismet.

The only thing I can do my end is make it a minimum of 1 reputation to bypass akismet and make sure you both have at least one upvote.

So i tried to post this test reply and got the flagged for spam message but yet it appears to have posted anyways.

@BuZz It is interesting, are you running the latest version of akismet?
Maybe try going back a version if it was upgraded recently and see if the problem persists? I am also curious that so far only myself and @pimpmaul69 @edmaul69 have had this issue occur or at least we are the only two who bothered to report it. I would think this would be a much more widespread issue if it wasn't something specific to our accounts, IP addresses, posting habits, or something else unique to us.
