my contributions to RetroAchievements
-
Well, I love this forum and this community, and have good friends around here. Then I thought: why not share with you guys about the games which I created achievements for? 🤔
List of games I've worked on:
- Zooming Secretary (NES)
- Alter Ego (NES)
- Magic Sword (SNES)
- Guerrilla War (NES)
- The Punisher (Mega Drive)
- Zero Wing (Mega Drive)
- Seaquest (Atari 2600)
- Wall Jump Ninja (Atari 2600)
- Vectorman (Mega Drive)
- QuackShot: Starring Donald Duck (Mega Drive)
- Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master (Mega Drive)
I'll try to update this post as I create more achievements.
Are you interested in learning how to create achievements? Check the docs here:

@meleu Nice bud.
I can't wait to finally play some games and set up the RetroAchievements.
Alter Ego is a great game. What types of achievements are there for a game like that?

that was my second achievement set, then I made only progress-based achievements and some for beating each group of 5 levels without losing a life.
after learning new techniques I thought on more funny achievements, but didn't revisited this game yet...
By the way, today I've finished a set for Vectorman (Mega Drive). It still lacks some badges, but it seems that our friend @lilbud will help on this front :)
-
@meleu You want to make badges for all of the achievements? Or just the ones you sent?
-
@lilbud all of them. I just sent those ones to not flood you with requests (and also because I'm not able to get all screenshots right now).
I'll provide more screenshots later.
Tell me, screenshots in png format are easier/better to work?
-
@meleu Format doesn't really matter. But from now on, could you disable whatever blur you have on the screenshots. Makes it kinda hard to see the pixels.
I would also appreciate if you could just zip em all up and email them to me.
Also, you might have to give me a few days. Got a lot of work to do for school.

I'll take another ones. Those were obtained using the PS Vita screenshot shortcut (PS+Start button). Let's ignore those images and I'll take another ones when I get home.

Sure I can do this. I just made that way to explain what each cheevo means and what the badge must represent.

Currently the upload badges function is buggy on RA site... There's no rush at all.
Thanks in advance.

@meleu Here's some artwork for Alter Ego. I had to downsize the cart by 50% and the box to only 25% to get it to upload here. I'll have higher quality stuff when the full sets are finally released.
EDIT: Here's Zooming Secretary and Guerilla War as well. :)
-
@used2berx thanks bro, but the badges we are talking about are those little squared images you can see when clicking on those links in the OP. They don't represent the game, but the achievement itself. Each achievement has its own badge.
-
@meleu Oh.. gotcha. Thought you might be able to make use of those since you were talking about images. I have never actually seen the Achievements in action yet.
One day I will ;)
-
Recently worked on the QuackShot, fixing/improving the existing cheevos and adding new ones.
-
Forgot to mention here...
Recently worked on Shinobi 3, the game chosen for the July's GotM. Again, fixing/improving the existing cheevos and adding new ones (thanks @lilbud for pinging me about the previous bugs ;) ) -
Have you made any further progress with the hascheevos app? I've not updated in a while. I know there are still new games being added. Just curious! Happy Gaming! :)
-
@meleu man, the Seaquest ones are insane. I love this!

oh man, not yet... kinda busy with RL stuff.
I'll update that At Some Point™️
:)

Cool, no worries!

Just in case someone here can understand Portuguese, I was interviewed for RetroAchievements-related podcast and talked about the history of how the cheevos feature was implemented on RetroArch, the backstages of RetroAchievements, my gamer life and other curiosities.
