      So new to the retropie.

I have two Bluetooth controllers I want to use. I have the switch pro controller which worked (past tense) on the retropie. And a Steel Series XL( which for some reason when it did work not all the buttons would configure abxy as example)

I removed both Bluetooth devices from the Bluetooth setup and now when I go to add them back in it just stays stuck on the search screen. It seems like it can't search for any Bluetooth devices I followed various instructions here and updated everything from the source in retroarch.

Any ideas. I figured removing the device and repairing would work but no dice.

Would I be better off trying a different Bluetooth controller altogether? Worries if I buy another controller will still into the same issues

Side note on a keyboard I am able to exit hitting ctrl-c

      Thank you

What version of Retropie are you using? And on what board?

@mitu I have the latest version of retropie on a raspberry 3 yes I pressed the pairing button on either the switch pro controller or the steel series. As stated in the original post I was able to get them paired before then had issues and removed them and now it just is stuck saying searching

@ulysses it's a retropie 3 model b. I uploaded to the latest retropie had this for less than 3 days. I have successfully paired the controllers on the pi before. After removing the Bluetooth device and when I try to add in retroarch it hangs on searching and doesn't do anything. I tried even putting the joy cons (other controllers) in pairing mode and it's not finding anything. I searched the board here and followed various instructions and typed in the appropriate commands in the dos like OS

@mitu Pi Model or other hardware: B+
                Power Supply used: 3.0
                RetroPie Version Used (4.1)
Built From: (Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website)
USB Devices connected: Keyboard, and Joysticks made from X-arcade kit(so basically an extra keyboard)
                Controller used:
Tried Switch Pro Controller and Steel Series XL, they paired at first but not all the buttons would map so tried removing) now they won't add back in keeps saying searching .

Hopefully that clears things up it doesn't throw an error or freeze the screen I can exit hitting ctrl-c

@mitu alright so after updating everything from source and powering down and coming back I got the it to pair with my switch pro controller which seems to work fine now. I also turned off Bluetooth on all my other devices in the house phone smartwatch etc maybe that helped

Still having issues with the SteelSeries. Able to configure and regsiter all the buttons in device setup. In emulation station all the buttons seem to work as programmed but once a rom is launched the center buttons the ones I have programed to start and select don't register. Looking through the forums it seems will have to jump through a lot of hoops to get the device to play nice with the SteelSeries XL.

                    Any suggestions?

                    Btw thanks again!!!
