I'm in a mess. My 3b setup used a 7 inch lcd. The commands I added to config.txt no longer can enable the lcd, and the command was set to set the lcd as the default. Now I have no HDMI output, and my lcd stays blank. It worked fine prior to upgrade.

So I figured ok no big deal, ill use winscp and edit that way. Nope, no permission. So I look up how to edit other files to enable root login, the final step however requires seeing my screen after editing and rebooting.

So im stuck with no visuals, and I cant edit config.txt. Advice?

you config.txt is actually located on a partition that can actually be accessed via your computer. Simply pop your sd card into a card reader and edit away.

It's looking like the 7 inch lcd does not play nice with the 3B+. Perhaps the connecting board is not compatible. Either way I'm back in business thanks again!

And now it works fine. The connector is a little different and I had not connected the ribbon cable properly.
