EmulationStation custom options menues
-
Hi.
Could someone give me an idea of how to edit the EmulationStation menus that come out when you press START is the main interface?
I would like to add new items and remove some,
I'm starting in RetroPie for Raspberry and I know very little about scripts and Linux, but little by little I'm moving forward.
I would like to be able to edit those menus, but the truth is that I have no idea how and everything I find is in English and my language is Spanish and it is a bit complicated to understand some things.
Thank you very much to all!!Sorry if the text is misspelled, but I used Google Translator.

@maxiducoli The ES menus are not configurable - and neither is the text on them. If you'd like to have a translated interface, I'd suggest using Recalbox - their version of Emulationstation supports translations and I think it has a Spanish translation included.

In addition to the translation (which is not so important because the EmulationStation menus are very intuitive) I would like to add and remove options, as recalbox or batocera have them.
So with RetroPie that will not be possible for me to do?
Recalbox gives me those possibilities?
Can I add more emulators to those that Recalbox already brings or can only use the ones they add?Thank you very much!!

@maxiducoli No, it's not possible to add/remove options from the ES's menus by configuration, unless you're using Kiosk/Kid mode - which removes most of the configuration options available.
I don't know about the ES version developed by Recalbox or their way of adding emulators, if it allows configuring each menu options, you should ask on their forum.
What exactly are you trying to do ? -
For now, just.
Add others sources for scrape data (screenscrape, mamedb, and an script mine to do the same, but take info from google search)Learn about how to do and then much more ideas.
I'm just make Windows apps and just for fun, this is one of them.I just want learn for now, then help the comunity.

@mitu
I think the guy was referring to what can be seen in this video at 1:35 :
I was actually searching myself how to do this just now and came across this thread. Is there any way to manually edit and replicate the menu on ES when you press start as shown in the video? Where would such files be on the sd card??

As i said - 2 years ago - that's not the RetroPie's version of EmulationStation, so it's doesn't apply to the RetroPie's EmulationStation, where the same answer I gave then is still valid.
