[HELP] Some Arcade Game High Scores Not Saving FB Alpha
-
Retropie Version 4.3.16
Retroarch 1.6.7
fb-alpha v0.2.97.42 08cf5c6
highcore.dat location: /BIOS/fba
Rom Location: Arcade folderI updated fb-alpha from source as others suggested from things I've read. Some games save their high score like Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike. But not for Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact nor Marvel vs. Capcom, 1944, for example.
-
@edwardthehuman I'll take a look this week-end, you are the second guy who tells me some specific games that should support hiscores actually don't (the fact sf3-3 work and sf3-2 don't is especially weird since they use the same driver). I hope highscore support didn't break again.
-
- Games from cps3 (including sfiii2) are working properly.
- It looks like highscore support was never implemented into cps1/cps2
-
Is that so? That explains why Marvel vs. Capcom doesn't save it. Thanks for the help!
-
@edwardthehuman What about sfiii2 ? Are you sure hiscores are not working for you in this game ?
I'll look into adding some hiscore support for cps1/cps2 when i have some time. -
@barbudreadmon Hi! Just checking, as I was digging into this - CPS2 hasn't been added yet, correct?
I ran into this last week in MAME ROW and had been wrecking my brain around what was I doing wrong :)
No urgency, just checking that I wasn't missing something.
Many thanks for all your work here!

I totally forgot about this, sorry.
-
@barbudreadmon please, there's no need to apologise, I wasn't complaining. I was trying to figure out why my high scores were asking on some games and not others and this was the last post that kind of related to my specific scenario, so I was just confirming that it was still the case. That way I'd know what was happening here. :)
I take that as a "yes, cps2 high scores aren't being saved yet", which helps me rest assured that it's working as intended.
Thanks:)
-
@pjft I added cps2 hiscore support this morning, this driver was huge... Keep in mind that some games/clones are not supported by hiscore.dat, even with latest hiscore.dat (which you can use with fbalpha). I'll try adding cps1 support later today.
-
@barbudreadmon wow, thank you! I'll try to look into it shortly.
-
@barbudreadmon I just created an account to say thank you very much! I cannot wait to test it tonight. Do I understand correctly that I should update from source?
-
@toutankh Yes, i also added cps1 btw.
-
Tested with dndtod, it works :)

I've been playing it these past few days as well, what a coincidence :)
