RPI 3B+ + HDMIPI - Powerboost 1000C - Help!

Hi Guys,
Hope you are well
I am creating a portable Raspberry Pi Project utilising the Raspberry Pi 3 B+ and the HDMIPI 9" HDMI Screen
I have everything I need wired up but having issues Power the RPI and the HDMI Driver Board from an Adafruit Powerboost 1000C.
HDMIPI takes either a 12V 1A Barrel Jack or 5.2V 2A Micro USB and can back power the RPI through a dedicated Back power USB
I tried both powering the HDMI Power with the official Raspberry Pi Power Supply through the Powerboost 1000C and back powering the RPI 3 B+ with a step up convert in between to up the Voltage to 5.1v and that doesn't work.
I have also tried using 5v in 1000C direct to the RPI and another 5v to the HDMI board and this doesn't work either - Also tried separate 5V with a step up converter to the HDMIPI to 5.2v and the separate 5v stepped up to 5.1v to the RPI and that doesn't work either.
If I use the official power supply through the HDMIPI with the RPI back powered that works perfectly its just when I try and use the Powerboost 1000C it all falls apart and it won't boot
Anyone have any tip or hints to help get me up and running? I have tried everything I know to my limited knowledge :(

- Lipo Power -> Adafruit Powerboost 1000C -> HDMIPI -> RPI 3 B+

I think you would need the 12 v power source to piggyback

@davidpearl looking closer into the setup, your power source may be the issue... how many amps are being sent to the board (use a multimeter)

@drakaen391 the power source is 5v 2a (Raspberry Pi official power supply)
If I bypass the powerboost 1000c the power supply works perfect in the hdmipi driver board back powering the pi.
The issues occur when I introduce the powerboost I to the circuit.
I can try:
5v 2A ps -> powerboost 1000c -> step up converter to 12V -> HDMI Driver board -> Rpi
Would that work?

@davidpearl not through the 5v plug
Test the amps and output voltage coming out of the power block to see if it’s working properly...

@drakaen391 not sure what you mean (I'm not massively technical)
I have checked the voltage from:
Powerboost to hdmipi with step up to 12v
hdmipi to raspberry pi with 5.1v step up

so, energy that is drawn by an electronic is based on 2 things.... Voltage, which is constant and amperage which is dynamic with an upper limit based on the power supply used....both together make up wattage...
The official power supply sends out 5v of power and has a max amperage output of 2.4amps
The raspberry pi 3B requires the 5v and about 2 amps to turn on anything under that and it won’t work
The powerblock you have could be dropping the amperage to below the threshold needed for the Pi to turn on...
A multimeter with Amp function can diagnose if the output is still at the correct level or not...

@drakaen391 thanks, I don't have anything that can read amperage
Assume I could get a 5v power supply with say 4A to cover myself?

@drakaen391 you might be able to borrow it from a friend or rent one from autozone.... just make sure it can read amps

@davidpearl you could especially with the pull but still recommend a multimeter in case it’s a bad board
