      Since I updated to RP 4.4, I updated all the main packages and noticed cheats no longer work in lr-picodrive, which is 1.9.2?

      It worked before and Retroarch 1.7.1 is also installed and worked in prior RP versions.

      Did something in lr-picodrive change for cheats to no longer work?

        So no one else is having issues with their Genesis cheats not working in the latest Picodrive/Pie?

        I play Genesis games often and some is more fun with certain cheats.

          I think I've had that issue as well and I had to change the default emulator to Genesis plus to use cheats.

            Thanks for the reply. May have too I guess.

            I tend to like to stick with the default emulators.

            Still, I just wonder why it worked in past versions and now all of a sudden it doesn't. I didn't see anything with cheats on the Picodrive github updates.

              @mat If you are using a Pi3 then genesisplusgx is the better emulator though it is a little more demanding. Genesisplusgx also supports CHD files for sega CD. Picodrive I really only use for 32x games.

                @quicksilver

                I am always leery of trying something outside of the default, but I used the genesisplusgx just now and seems to fix this solution, so that's good & thanks.

                  What's important is what works best for you. The defaults are intended to cover a wide range of use cases, but quite often the alternatives can potentially work better for specific goals. One of RetroPie's biggest strengths is that it allows you to tailor your emulation experience to how you see fit.
