Running latest version of Retropie, ES.
      Rpi 3 B+

All of a sudden kodi crashed to emulationstation. I've tried opening it and it shows the runcommand, loads kodi splash screen, and then crashes 3 seconds after (shows command line for 2 seconds)

I've tried updating, and removing/reinstalling with no luck, same problem.

      does anyone have a solution?

@red2blue said in Kodi crashing after opening (version 17.4):

When you reinstall, is it a clean install that's crashing, or are you adding back addons from a previous installation?

@mediamogul im assuming adding back addons.

I looked in my kodi log and at the end this seems to be the issue

@red2blue Seems to be an incompatible addon that you installed. Close Kodi, move /home/pi/.kodi to /home/pi/.kodi_bak for example and start it again.

@rascas the issue was one of my controllers that was plugged into the pi.. no idea why but once i unplugged that one from the pi it worked.
