I have a pi3. I feel like i should upgrade to get better results for fba accuracy setting. I have my pi 3 overclocked a bit to make FBA accuracy run better i only notice some stutters when lots of things happen or boss battles in metal slug for example it don't effect gameplay much. the stutter could be normal, it's accuracy mode after all. I want to try running more arcade tittles in fba and see if i get good results. At the moment i don't have a good tv so that is my main concern and not in the mood to get a better tv until i see that hdmi 2.1 with the next gen consoles come out.
I hear Odroid does a good job in n64. I don't care for emulation for n64 at the moment but if it's good ill put some roms i dumped for the hell of it.

Any arcade emulator concerned with accuracy will have this side effect, no matter how powerful the host hardware is. 'Metal Slug' 1&2 both ran with slowdown on original hardware to the point where some enemy encounters were even designed around the flaw. The games really wouldn't be an accurate representation otherwise.

        fba accuracy setting.

This setting disappeared a year ago, it was kinda buggy so i replaced it by another core option (speedhack) which is working as a dipswitch specific to the affected games. Neogeo games like metal slug was never affected by it in any way.

You should probably consider updating lr-fbalpha and your romset, there was a ton of fixes over the last year.

alright. I hope this speed hack is just as good. Does it need just as much cpu power like latency? I need as little button delay as possible. Just hopeing to see a similar latency option built into retro pi like in the new retroarch setting.
I havn't updated since jan prob. Ill update when I get a chance.

As long as you're not using PiFBA, you'll be running RetroArch on RetroPie. Make sure you've updated your RetroPie-Setup script, as well as update RetroArch from binary and you'll have the new latency options in the RetroArch menu. From what I've read this works well with FBA cores, but the Pi may struggle with it. Just make sure you test to see how much lag exists on a game-by-game basis and be sure not to extend the run-ahead past the results of the test. Otherwise you'll run into artifacting that could potentially have more of a negative effect on your game play than the latency you're trying to get rid of.

Edit: The developer of the run-ahead feature has stated that a setting of 1 frame of run-ahead "should almost always be safe" in games that have inherent latency (Basically any game besides Atari 2600 titles).

So what should i upgrade to? i am familiar with the pi thou.
I run it in that mode. turning it on and off i do notice a dif. There is less or no delay when jumping before a ledge then when it's on.
That mode requires me to overclock to 2.3-4gh which is pushing it for a 3b, but i have a good case. and still slight lag at lots of stuff going on but it doesn't effect gameplay much.

Is lowering the resolution an option to you? And using overlays and shader can also have an impact.
