I would like to use this http://www.u-hid.com/home/overview_bboard.php with a Pi3.
Does anybody have any experience and or suggestions about this device?

      Thanks in advance!

Hi! I've just replaced the board in one of my joysticks with a BlueHID. It works great in Windows and MacOS (fantastic board!), but so far I have not been able to make it work with Raspberry Pi/RetroPie. It connects through Bluetooth without any problems, but it seems like the Raspberry does not understand what I'm connecting. Have you had any luck?

After some more testing, the controllers seems to be working fine in Raspbian, so then RetroPie is the one that needs attention for this to work. I'm investigating further...

I've since gotten mine to work with the latest version of RetroPie 4.4 and RaspberryPi 3 and 3B in keyboard mode, not game controller mode. I only use Mame .078 for games. The roller ball attached is very sluggish, I think maybe Bluetooth doesn't sample fast enough, not sure.

I had also gotten it to work with version 4.3 but had to install the latest Raspbian Stretch image and then install the basic RetroPie using these instructions. https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Manual-Installation/

I finally got it working too after a fresh reinstall of RetroPie.

It did not work when I did an update to 4.4 on top of the 4.3, which is not recommended. Now I see why :)

@superrune I’m curious to know whether you can still connect & pair the the Ultramarc BlueHID device with Retropie ( if you’re still using either of course).

I’m using a fresh install of Retropie 4.7.1 and I’m having the same issue as you had in 2018 ie: “It connects through Bluetooth without any problems, but it seems like the Raspberry does not understand what I'm connecting”.

It appears in the list of available BT devices in the Retropie Bluetooth setup but it will not pair.
It will connect and work on my PC so it would appear the hardware is ok

I’d appreciate any thoughts or advice
