LED power button on FLICR case
-
Hey Guys,
I'm wondering if anyone on here has any experience with this. I was looking at this switch on adafruit but it's 16mm so I'm wondering if it will cause interference with the GPIO pins .

Somebody posted an image in their Amazon review with what looks to be a similar button but I have to imagine it's smaller than 16mm.

Thanks for any insight.

I ordered one of these coming on a slow boat from China.
If anyone is interested in this mod I'll post pics if and when I get it installed.

Finally got the switch yesterday and installed. eBay listing said it was a latching switch but it ended up being a momentary. I wasn't able to put the switch on the side like I wanted since it was too long and wide and would interfere with the GPIO pins.
This was really the only place I could put it.
I have the led ring setup to be on when the pi is on and off when power is off.
For anyone installing an led on their Pi 3+, I found that pin 8 (GPIO 14) used for power is set to low(power off) by default on newer versions of the OS, I'm on Linux 9 stretch from the image I got with 4.4.1. To enable it you need to add the following line to /boot/config.txt
enable_uart=1
