@jimbo What's your RetroPie version ? The package is installable - from source - without problems. I just installed it on version 4.4, but the package script hasn't change in over a year.

          4.4 latest version!

As I said I could previously install but on this new image it fails every time. I suppose I am going to have to dig out the error log and see whats happening under the bonnet!

@jimbo Look in the /home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/logs, there should be a compressed logs file with the compilation logs. What's your pc's hostname ? There is a Libretro bug that manifests itself when the hostname contains win, making the compilation think it should compile the windows version.

PC’s hostname? What my desktop PC? Which is a iMac?

I havent had any issues with other Libretro builds.

@jimbo Well, it was worth a shot, I thought if you had RetroPie installed on an pc (Ubuntu/Debian), this might be an issue.

@jimbo Then just get the log file for the compilation and upload it to pastebin.com, maybe we can spot the error.

@jimbo Out of memory - quit ES first. Also what's your memory split ? Not seen an out of memory issue with this emulator before, so maybe due to your config.

@buzz Ok quit ES and attempting to install that way!

                            YAY it worked!!!!!

As for memory split, not something I have tweaked or touched in anyway!

@jimbo May be due to memory intensive ES theme then. Anyway, glad it's working now.
