      Re: Arcade controls advice

@TMNTturtlguy in the above linked topic you mention that you use the Mode switch of your zero delay arcade controllers as the hot key, which i think is a very neat idea! i didnt know that you can assign this switch to a function.

However i connected all the function keys Turbo/Reset/Auto/Mode with switches on my control panel (see top of the picture with the two mode leds.

i do not really understand the mode functionality maybe you can help me here? If during controler setup in ES i assign the d-pad directions with mode untouched then i can further down switch the mode to green LED and then i am able to assign the directions again for example for the left or right analog directions! However i am not able to use these functions in any game if i switch to green mode during ingame... If i assign the previously defined analog directions to functions in retroarch (A.B. cop left/right) moving the joystick does nothing...

do you have an idea how to utilize the mode functionality of the zero delay controllers properly?

@grant2258 i'd like to tag you here because you seem to be an expert for this dragonrise controller according to this github issue
can you help me with the above question about mode switch and how to use it? my idea was to use the Joystick in analogue mode (mode switch actuated) for controlling analogue games like A.B. Cop

i have a very easy answer for you if you mean you want the controller to work in digial mode when its in analog within retroarch anyway. go to settings inputs->user 1 binds

in there you will see user 1 analogue to digital type it will probably be set to none change that to left analog

as for the mode buttons you dont want a switch you only want a press like a button

@grant2258 these are actually buttons! thats fine.

what i meant is i like to benefit from the possibility to switch from digital to analog on hardware side. i want to make the controler able to act like analogue stick in certain games that only accept analouge input by switching the dragonrise mode to analogue... instead of doing this via RA

when the light is orange/red its in analog mode when its green its digital. if you want a true analog control you are probably going to have to add a analog sensor of some sort to it though. The mode button press changes this
