The title basically says it all. I have multiple types of controllers (2 each wired SNES-style and DualShock 4, paired using the user-level script). They connect fine, and they're mapped, and I can navigate around emulation station using them, but as soon as I launch a game, it doesn't respond to any input from the controllers (no matter what combination I have tried, including just a single wired controller, which is what I'm currently trying). If I have a keyboard connected, I can exit the game by using ESC; if not, I have to power cycle the Pi to get back to Emulation Station.

Pi Model or other hardware: Raspberry Pi 3b
    Power Supply used: CanaKit 2.5A
RetroPie Version Used (eg 3.6, 3.8.1, 4.1 - do not write latest): 4.4
    Built From: Pre-made image
    USB Devices connected: Keyboard
Controller used: iNNEXT USB SNES / NES Controller (also happens w/ DS4)
    Error messages received: None
Log found in /dev/shm/runcommand.log (if relevant): N/A
    Guide used: N/A
    File: N/A
Emulator: all of them I've tried, which is most of the NES, SNES, and MegaDrive ones

How to replicate the problem: Launch a game

@gthank hmm I am having the same problem as you now, I rarely use my controllers (I have mini-pac from ultimarc). I just fired up megadrive and psx emulators and no controls work once in game, including my mini-pac controls (keyboard). If I unplug the joysticks then my mini-pac controls work, this includes when the game is running as well. Very odd. The controllers work in ES, going to delete and remap see if that makes a difference.

@gthank Configuring input again for each controller fixed my issue, hopefully that works for you. It's been a while since I've used them, not sure if some update along the line horked something.

@stoney66 Thanks for the advice. I've got a config for /opt/retropie/configs/all/retroarch-joypads/USB\ Gamepad\ .cfg that looks reasonable, but still nothing is working. I have remapped them all repeatedly, and still no love. Any other ideas?
