    I will continue to solve this problem next week, will Check where the Files of 3.8 get installed to, i think something has changed concerning the paths.

    No, they haven't changed. Try to update from source and then check the build log in /home/pi/RetroPie-Setup/logs- pick the last log file there and upload its contents to pastebin.com to see the error.

      @sirhenrythe5th

      When you try to exit the emulator, does the confirmation window have options for saving and loading a state? If so, you're actually on 3.8. Anecdotally, I noticed something similar with 3.7, where it was identified as being 3.6 in the menu and when the version number was requested from the command line. However, I had all the features that 3.7 was supposed to have, so I just assumed it was a versioning error of some sort.

        @mediamogul maybe, that would make sense.

        I had this exit menu with the options of saving and loading save states, but changed it in the config-file (secureexit=0) because i did not want that.
        I am a highscore-hunter and dont want me or other s using my image cheat this way.

        This option was introduced with 3.7, so it does not affect 3.8.
        But nethertheless, i also thought that maybe Andrea (the creator of AdvanceMame) has forgotten to make 3.8 visiable in the latest update.

          Ah, you're right. In fact, those were likely the features I used to visually identify 3.7 from 3.6 in the first place.

              Actually, there is a problem and it's good you've caught it. Building the latest 3.8, compilation fails with

              [..]
              obj/mame/linux/blend/advance/linux/mevent.o
              obj/mame/linux/blend/advance/linux/jevent.o
              advance/linux/jevent.c: In function 'joystickb_setup':
              advance/linux/jevent.c:413:25: fatal error: joverride.dat: No such file or directory
              #include "joverride.dat"
              ^
              compilation terminated.
              advance/emu.mak:570: recipe for target 'obj/mame/linux/blend/advance/linux/jevent.o' failed
              make: *** [obj/mame/linux/blend/advance/linux/jevent.o] Error 1
              [...]

              but the install script doesn't detect the compilation failed and then moves over to the install && configure steps, thinking the installation succeeded.
              Will see how to fix that.

              EDIT: Reported also at https://sourceforge.net/p/advancemame/discussion/313512/thread/e394fb57/

                  Jools updated the scripmodule and the installation from source should work now. I don't know if the binary package was also updated. As @dankcushions said, the compilation from will take some time..

                    I can confirm that binary build is still 3.7 but it's fixed a lot of my graphic size issues wish I tried it sooner!

                    Build from source still not working for me.

                      Update your Retropie setup script first, then install from source.
