      pi3b

Im at the moment scanning the romset and trimming to have 1rom per region with only working roms, if the roms from result all work ill transfer them to pi3. I used romcenter, with the dat from the romset.

Then why use an emulator only recommended for pi0/pi1 ? While i don't think it's the issue here (not sure though), mame2000 is a bad choice for pi3b in terms of compatibility/feature.

Do you have the neogeo.zip file in your roms folder? Aero Fighters/Sonic Wings 2 requires the Neo-Geo BIOS.

@barbudreadmon I only managed to get the romset for mame2000.

The neogeo i think aint of the romset for mame200 but ill try this roms i scanned i think they will work ok.

Prob of rom sets is the DAT file, all romsets should have a software were you can choose region and type of games to separate the roms from.

I don't remember where it is (probably retropie's wiki), but there is a "no-clone" dat file for fbalpha, there is also a neogeo only dat file in the fbalpha github repository (see my signature). mame2000 is outdated so i don't think there are such dats for it.

Another option is to build the needed romset (e.g. mame 0.78 for mame2003) from a newer romset and its "rollback" set. The latter should include all files that were removed from previous versions, so you can build any previous romset from both of these.

Just a suggestion in case you can find a newer romset with a rollback companion. See the docs for instructions on Validating, Rebuilding, and Filtering ROM Collections.

@lyle_jp oh yeah sonic wings 2 is a neo geo game! facepaws

It will work fine. Use final burn alpha (fba core) and oddly I found that i had to have the neogeo bios in with the roms not in the bios folder...

advmame will work as well...bios in the bios folder

                  if i remember correctly...

@akafox The Neo-Geo bios should always be in the roms folder, regardless of emulator choice. The BIOS folder is for BIOS files used by console systems.

lr-fbalpha can read it from the BIOS folder, fbalpha needs the file to be in the ROMs folder.

@akafox @Lyle_JP @mitu lr-fbalpha will search the roms folder, then the BIOS/fba folder (where samples & hiscore.dat are supposed to be), then the BIOS folder. It works that way for any bios or parent rom (which means you can also store the non working parent roms needed to run some clone in the BIOS/fba folder).
