It's been a little while since I posted pickups, so here are some recent additions. If you like this sort of thing I have more photos on my Instagram. If these aren't things you want to see here, let me know.

Finally, a SwanCrystal has joined my collection. I purchased the SwanCrystal and the white Final Fantasy edition Wonderswan Color as “not working”. The SwanCrystal was missing its battery cover, so I figured I’d buy the nonop white WSC for the battery cover. Turns out, they both work and after some cleaning and an bit of aluminum foil, I got 2 nice working consoles.

@celly Does the foil act to complete the circuit because of the damaged carbon pad or because the contacts on the PCB are damaged? I'm not clear on how that works or how the foil doesn't constantly complete the circuit, even when not pressing the button.

@obsidianspider I think its a mix of both. From my understanding, the power buttons on these are pretty notorious for not working. The foil acts to make the connection only while being depressed onto the contact. Otherwise, it doesn’t. It wasn’t my idea to use it, I found it while browsing how to fix non working Wonderswans.

And it also looks like you need to add one of these FF WSC’s to your collection as well. 😜

An arm and a leg? No, but boxed stuff is certainly more expensive than loose. I am not in a hurry to pick up anything so I keep my eyes open for what I think is a fair price. Patience along with looking at past eBay sold listings and PriceCharting are how I try to gauge what things are currently going for. I'm not paying a huge premium for anything to have a game immediately. One game that I'm looking for right now has been selling anywhere from $20 - $60 in about the same condition (based on photos) so I'll wait a bit. They made a zillion of these things, so they're out there.

Doing alright over here, thanks for asking. I hope you're doing fine too. Yeah, haven't been around here lately. I am busy with other hobbies at the moment. Motorcycle stuff.

Well i didn't tell the whole story. Those things aren't mine. (;_;)
They belong to a friend of mine which asked me to get those backpack limited editions. One set costs around 30000 Yen!! Crazy if you ask me.
Anyways, i will ship them out tomorrow to my friend which lives in Europe.

To be honest i don't need a NeoGeo mini i have a Pi with the NeoGeo X theme of yours that is better than a mini.

Wow, that's over £200. That does seem pretty steep but going by past NeoGeo merchandise they will more than likely increase in value.

I need to get the gridview flyer update finished for the NeoGeo theme and upload it so you can try that out - I've also been busy with other stuff as it's been such good weather here so I haven't gotten around to it yet. I've also finally got a can of white vinyl dye so I can restore that Famicom you sent me so I'll post some photos when it's done.

Do you like Sega consoles? If so I've got another theme I'm releasing soon you might like that I made for my Megadrive build: 'Mega-Tech Theme'

Yeah, i love Sega stuff. I used to collect Japan MD games but after 110 games i gave up since i never be able to afford the super rare and expensive ones.
I also tried to source a MD usb hub to build a MD mini but those hubs are super expensive thanks to the RPi hype.

I totally missed the new theme of yours. As always, looking very good!

I was wondering the same. It seems like it would be awkward to play on a TV and isn't ideally suited as a portable system due to it's size and shape. It seems like more of a fun display piece. External controllers would make it viable as a TV system but it doesn't come with any and you can guarantee it will only support proprietary controllers that will be scarce and expensive.

According to the SNK website you can connect that thing to a TV using the HDMI port.
Not sure about the controllers but from the pics they look like regular Type-C USB ports.
I cannot imagine playing on such a small screen for longer than few minutes and according to some people it does not have the scan lines that would make it more authentic visually.
I guess sooner or later someone is gonna jail brake it and then maybe you will be able to add all NeoGeo games on it. Or maybe one day @obsidianspider will put in a Pi and then there will be no limits anymore.

On first sight you can't see that it is a Mario product until you look closer which is kinda nice. I don't like flashy, "hey look here" kinda merchandise.

I also bought something yesterday that will change my gaming life. I should probably not done it since I spend way too much recently but I couldn't resist and the price...man the price was really great.
I bought me a ASUS ROG Strix 1080 Ti (OC) graphics card. And the funny thing is I don't own a PC at all and I am far from building one. Guess we call this a future investment.

Yeah, I've seen videos of it connected to a TV, it just seems that with having the hdmi lead and power lead connecting it to the tv would make it really awkward to use. Not to mention the shape of the console doesn't make it look particularly comfortable to use as the controller. It does have two usb ports I believe but I'm willing to bet they wont allow you to use any old controller (at least until it's inevitably jail broken as you said).

Went shopping today looking for a new belt and I found these here.

                                            Those belts look great.

Regarding the 1080ti - that's a great card. I recently built a friend a PC with that very same card paired with i7 8700k and corsair liquid cooling and the performance was amazing. He also gave me a nice wodge of cash as a thank you which I wasn't expecting so I immediately spent the money on a PSVR which I'm loving :) .

I have to know - how good of a deal was the graphics card? When I built my friends PC that card cost a whopping £833.
