Yeah, i love Sega stuff. I used to collect Japan MD games but after 110 games i gave up since i never be able to afford the super rare and expensive ones.
I also tried to source a MD usb hub to build a MD mini but those hubs are super expensive thanks to the RPi hype.

I totally missed the new theme of yours. As always, looking very good!

@flyingtomahawk Very cool. Have you seen one out of the box in person yet? I wonder how playable it is on the small cabinet.

Unfortunately no. I haven't had the chance to actually touch and play with it.

I was wondering the same. It seems like it would be awkward to play on a TV and isn't ideally suited as a portable system due to it's size and shape. It seems like more of a fun display piece. External controllers would make it viable as a TV system but it doesn't come with any and you can guarantee it will only support proprietary controllers that will be scarce and expensive.

According to the SNK website you can connect that thing to a TV using the HDMI port.
Not sure about the controllers but from the pics they look like regular Type-C USB ports.
I cannot imagine playing on such a small screen for longer than few minutes and according to some people it does not have the scan lines that would make it more authentic visually.
I guess sooner or later someone is gonna jail brake it and then maybe you will be able to add all NeoGeo games on it. Or maybe one day @obsidianspider will put in a Pi and then there will be no limits anymore.

Went shopping today looking for a new belt and I found these here.

On first sight you can't see that it is a Mario product until you look closer which is kinda nice. I don't like flashy, "hey look here" kinda merchandise.

I also bought something yesterday that will change my gaming life. I should probably not done it since I spend way too much recently but I couldn't resist and the price...man the price was really great.
I bought me a ASUS ROG Strix 1080 Ti (OC) graphics card. And the funny thing is I don't own a PC at all and I am far from building one. Guess we call this a future investment.

Yeah, I've seen videos of it connected to a TV, it just seems that with having the hdmi lead and power lead connecting it to the tv would make it really awkward to use. Not to mention the shape of the console doesn't make it look particularly comfortable to use as the controller. It does have two usb ports I believe but I'm willing to bet they wont allow you to use any old controller (at least until it's inevitably jail broken as you said).

Regarding the 1080ti - that's a great card. I recently built a friend a PC with that very same card paired with i7 8700k and corsair liquid cooling and the performance was amazing. He also gave me a nice wodge of cash as a thank you which I wasn't expecting so I immediately spent the money on a PSVR which I'm loving :) .

I have to know - how good of a deal was the graphics card? When I built my friends PC that card cost a whopping £833.

@flyingtomahawk Here's a photo of the PC I built, not the best quality photo but it's the only one I got after building it. It's in a corsair 570x crystal case wilth LL140 rgb fans so you have full control over the lighting and my friend chose just white 🙄 .

That is a very nice looking build, well done!
I also was thinking about going with white or red light if I ever should build a PC.
Something with a Ryzen 5 or 7 inside but not water cooled since I don't overclock.

                          Regarding the card,
I paid with current exchange rate around 395 GBP
The card is used, for about a month, still has the 1 year shop warranty on it. She was not used for mining, just gaming. The seller pre-ordered a 2080Ti and that is why he wanted to get rid of the card asap.

Here in Japan she costs somewhere between 700-840 GBP for a new one and around 600 upwards GBP for a used one.

I recently start to watch some youtube videos from some popular tech dudes and they really build crazy stuff these days. Guess i got a bit addicted but didn't make up my mind 100% yet. I figured the card is an important piece and for that price I couldn't let it pass.

I am currently running a eGPU (external graphic card) setup on my Acer notebook with a MSI GTX 660 TwinForzr III which can handle older games fairly good but won't be enough for PUBG or other more interesting games.

Wow - that's an amazing deal. And that card will be great for many years to come.
If I were you I'd definitely consider the liquid cooling even without overclocking. It's the first build I've made using it as it's just an all in one unit you plug in so it's nice and easy these days and it's far quieter than a fan.

The last time I build a PC was in my early 20 which is roughly 15-20 years ago and we didn't had water cooling like today. Hell the see-through cases just started to become popular those days. Now you got all the fancy RGB lights and crazy looking cases and cooling systems. At first I wanted to go with a GTX 1060 6GB ($300) or even a GTX 1070 ($400) but for $100-200 bucks more I was able to get the 1080Ti. Right time, right place I guess.

From what I saw on youtube there are 3 ways to cool a CPU

                              1. CPU fans

Pros: easy install, nearly maintenance-free except for the occasional dust-off.
Cons: Not so effective cooling as water/liquid, loud fan noises at high temps.

                              1. AIO liquid cooling

Pros: easy install, no maintenance, very quiet.
Cons: depends on the model it can be costly, liquid cannot be replaced therefore after a certain time span you need to replace the whole unit.

                              1. Custom loop

Pros: looks friggin nice, cools very well and quiet, liquid can be replaced
Cons: very costly, not easy to install for beginners, needs maintenance.

                              Did I get that correct?
I have a long way still ahead of me. I am not PC build ready and can only afford one piece at the time. This time the graphics card, next time the motherboard or CPU and so on. And hopefully the RAM prices will finally drop because those are just insane at the moment. Meanwhile I will keep simulating my build on pcpartpicker[dot]com

Yeah that's right, I'm certainly no expert myself and didn't want to attempt custom liquid cooling so all in one solutions seemed ideal and it was really easy to install - obviously I can't comment on the longevity yet.
It will probably depend on which CPU you go for whether liquid cooling is worth it though. For many CPUs air cooling will be perfectly fine - just go for one of the bigger after market air coolers and it will still be really quiet.

@flyingtomahawk That's the kind of subtle nerdry I need more of in my life. I wonder if those belts are a Japan-exclusive thing. Also, Bandai makes clothing?

I was surprised myself. I didn't expect to find those today. They looked great and for $20 a piece I thought sure why not. They look subtle. Found them at a clothing store which you would never expect to find game related stuff.

                                          Oh wow, that was quick!
Was that something you've been working on for a while?

I also hope that one day retroflag, which makes those popular NES and SNES cases might do a NeoGeo and MegaDrive case.
Then i would be forced to get 2-3 PIs just to have a matching case for each theme.

I like looking at builds like that, but I could never have something like that. I'd get sick of the colors in about a day or so.
