Only 1 PVR client loads in Kodi
-
Hey guys, I want to run NextPVR as my PVR client in Kodi. I installed IPTV Simple Client before and had it enabled. I've sudo'd all the PVRs, updated Kodi, rebooted, and I still only see IPTV Simple Client. What am I doing wrong?
-
You have to install next pvr as you installed iptv simple. Restart Kodi, go to addons ->pvrs disable iptv simple and enable next pvr. You can only have one pvr enabled at a time in Kodi.
-
No, I can't see NextPVR. It isn't visible.
-
Please post your latest Kodi log:
https://kodi.wiki/view/Log_fileWhat is the output of:
sudo apt-get install kodi-pvr-nextpvr
-
@rascas The log file is over 1MB. Where do I find it in system to FTP over?
-
Just exit Kodi, start it again and follow the procedure in Log file Easy part and post the link it gives you here. Debug must be enabled.
Or follow the Advanced part, both of them are pretty well explained.
Don't forget to also post the output of command I mentioned above. -
@rascas Yeah, the log file is over 1MB, and it would cost me a Pro Pastebin account to link. Can I DB it to you instead?
-
It is impossible that it is over 1MB if you just start Kodi. Or upload it to somewhere else. No, you cannot send it to me instead.
-
@rascas Listen, man, I'm doing what you say. I have no reason to lie or make something up. Please treat me with some decency. I DID just start Kodi. The file IS that big. As I'm not the party requesting the log file, I'll leave it to you to tell me the service you would like me to send it. I offered a solution. You declined. If you have another solution you prefer, I would appreciate you informing me. Thank you.
-
@rascas https://www.dropbox.com/s/qdl5pntamjcvm8o/kodi.log?dl=0 This is what I was talking about. I hope it will suffice.
-
I treated you normally. I just don't want you to send me logs personally, there is no need for that, you can post it here like you did. You are the one asking for help, not me, it works fine for me.
After looking at your log, you don't have Next PVR installed, only IPTV simple. Please post the output of the following command:sudo apt-get install kodi-pvr-nextpvr
-
@rascas Yes, that worked. I sudo'd all PVRs as the Kodi wiki states is possible. Didn't seem to work, at least for me. But, yes, installing individually appeared to work.
In future, claiming a person asking for help is claiming the impossible is not the best method of reaching a common solution. It actually makes the person who needs help feel like a shit.
-
Many ppl here or other forums like the kodi forum, just ask for help with one liners, with almost no information but we don't have a crystal ball. We explain them on how to get logs, but even so many just keep talking with no usefull information. For example, the command on my second post would solve your problem right away. You have to help us first before we can help you.
-
@rascas Alright, man, whatever. You asked me to post the log. That was the first thing you asked me to do in your reply. I went about doing that. You belittled me. Read the thread.
-
@rascas Further, the Kodi wiki you cite actually has the wrong location for the log file in Retropie. I had to search for the file in WinSCP.
-
@mbrett Whatever, next time you ask for help I will just ignore it.
The path for the log file is correct, RetroPie just symlinks the folder /home/pi/.kodi to /opt/retropie/configs/ports/kodi, so you probably can't access it via ftp/sftp. -
@mbrett Nobody belittled you and your attitude doesn't help. Everybody here is donating their free time to give help and support and you started attacking - without reason - the most knowledgeable person in the forum that could help solve your Kodi problem.
-
I will be honest here. I had the same problem with some things in kodi. I got a old sd card and installed openelec on it...much easier. However I know this takes away from the "all-in-one entertainment center" as you would have to turn it off and switch cards ect. ect.
Just my opinion.
I don't IPTV on kodi anymore been awhile
-
@mitu I didn't attack anyone. I simply followed someone's directions, and then was told I was doing it wrong. Even though some of the information I was given was incorrect. I then corrected him/her. and told him/her the information didn't help.
Attacking is name-calling or making personal insinuations of some kind.
He/she chose to help me. I choose to help people in other forums I moderate, too. People help people. That's society. Clarity & language matter.

@mbrett said in Only 1 PVR client loads in Kodi:

You just insinuated the person trying to help you has
belittled you
and you accused @Rascas doesn't treat you with 'decency' . That's an attack to me. You're playing the innocent here, but your entitled attitude is saying otherwise to me. In the future, please respect the people trying to help you on the forums and don't treat them like they owe you anything.
Contributions to the project are always appreciated, so if you would like to support us with a donation you can do so here.
