            what does this mean

              @blazein It means your Emulationstation crashed - so probably auto-login works now.

                    @mitu i did the auto login again from the raspi config settings now im getting pure virtual method called terminate called without an active exception aborted

                      Yes, and I said that's an error from Emulationstation, not related to the auto-login. Is auto-login working now or you still get the login prompt ?

                          That's because Emulationstation crashes and it leaves you at the command line. Try updating your packages (if you haven't done so) and if you still get the error, then you should open a new topic with this problem - it's no longer an auto-login issue - and provide the information asked in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.
