      I updated all packages including system files, came across the autologin bug, fixed it, then saw the error messages when updating advmame0.94:

      Ln: creating symbolic link.... failed: operation not permitted

      Is this normal?

        It depends, you didn't give any information about your setup as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first. The configuration of advmame creates some symlinks in the arcade romdir (https://github.com/RetroPie/RetroPie-Setup/blob/master/scriptmodules/emulators/advmame.sh#L74), if your ROMdir is on a fat32 drive (i.e. running ROMs from an USB), then I think you might get this error.

          @mitu I see. My roms are on a FAT32 drive so that explains it then. Thanks.
