      Hello!

I am from Germany and my english really bad... I hope you can understand me!

I am planing to combine a digital picture frame and a retro gaming station on one Raspberry for a waiting room.

i would like to boot ("silent boot" = no boot text or images) direct into the screensaver (i think i read that retropi has a build in screensaver and silent boot is possible:

And load random pictures from local network via wifi.

Than if i plug in a usb controller or hit a switch from a paired bluetooth controller ( i have some XBOX 360 Controllers) the RetroPi interface should appear. And after a while with no input the slideshow should start again.

Also i want to make gaming "child safe". I think the right option for this is "kiosk mode" am i right?

So now my question is: is this possible? And what do i have to do? I am new in Raspberry, i only used arduino befot but i am very willing to read a lot and do the necessary researches!

At the moment i am thinking about the right hardware. I like the size and price of the Zero WH but i think the Pi 3 will give me better performance and faster boot times.
