For some reason my Metadata does not save once I exit emulation station. for PSX games. I have tried to perform different things I have read online but it does not seem to work. Anybody know an easy way to fix this and what this error message below means.
Error parsing XML file "/home/pi/.emulationstation/gamelists/psx/gamelists.xml"! No document element found.

      Rasperry Pie 3 model b
      Emulation Station V 2.7.6 RP
      Xbox usb controller
      Wireless Microsoft keyboard USB
      5V 2.5
      PSX - lr-pcsx-rearmed

This is the file where your metadata is saved and ES complains it cannot find it. Have you done any modifications to your installation - changing permissions for folder or installing additional scripts ? How did you install the RetroPie image ?

@mitu No I bought the Rasperry Pie had the retro pie already installed. I only added 5 PSX games and tried to scrape the info on the games metadata. That is all I have done. Is this fixable without losing my games?

We don't support 3rd party images - especially the ones coming with pre-loaded ROMs. This is made clear in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first; furthermore the RetroPie license prohibits commercial use so the person that sold you the kit is a scammer.
Please use the image provided by the RetroPie project from retropie.org.uk/download if you'd like to offer your support.

@mitu Ok. I’m sorry I did not know that. I will download the image off your site and gladly provide support. By downloading the image will it erase what I have put on the retro pi?

Once you flash the official image to your card, it will erase everything prior, leaving you with a clean system.
