Resetting controls for Mame4all

Hello all, Iv recently messed up on mame4all and now none of my controllers or the keyboard will work.
I have tried the following:
-Deleting the default.cfg file.
-Removing and reinstalling mame4all from the retopie setup menu.
-Deleting the mame4all folder across the wifi using my laptop and reinstalling with the
original files I have saved on my laptop.-Resetting all configurations for emulation station: from the retropie setup menu- manage main packages- reset configuration for emulation station.
NOTHING WORKS!!!!!
I have tried everything on the forum and I am at the point now where I am going to buy another SD card and start again.
All controls for all the other emulators work. Its just mame4all.
