      Hi everyone,

      I am having issues with installing some of the main packages, particularly lr-mupern64plus and non lr version. Furthermore, the same issue is effecting the lr-pcsx-rearmed package too.

      Each time I go to install I have a 'Libpng12-dev' error.

      I was able to use the lr-parallel -n64 as a replacement emulator and that all works very well. I did install lr-beetle-psx also but that ran into another, seperate issue. The tested bios for beetle is in the correct folder, the rom I am using in testing is a known working rom which works on other emulators so the .bin and .cue are good.

      This is from the runcommand.log;

      Parameters:
      Executing: /opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/bin/retroarch -L /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-beetle-psx/mednafen_psx_hw_libretro.so --config /opt/retropie/configs/psx/retroarch.cfg "/home/arcade/RetroPie/roms/psx/One.cue" --appendconfig /dev/shm/retroarch.cfg

      I am running retropie on an old laptop;

      Core 2 duo 2Ghz
      2Gb Ram
      160GB HDD

      System is;

      RELEASE=3
      CODENAME=cindy
      EDITION="Cinnamon"
      DESCRIPTION="LMDE 3 Cindy"
      DESKTOP=Gnome
      TOOLKIT=GTK

      If I can get one of the psx packages working, It would finish my project and forever gratefulto this project.

      Thanks.

        It looks like your distro is not correctly detected and some work-arounds for libpng12 are not applied. What's the output of lsb_release -sidrc ?

          @mitu Thanks for replying,

          I don't know how to access the information relating to lsb_release -sidrc.

            @mitu

            I have isolated the issue further and now I can see this;

            Reading package lists... Done
            Building dependency tree
            Reading state information... Done
            Package libpng12-0 is not available, but is referred to by another package.
            This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
            is only available from another source

            E: Package 'libpng12-0' has no installation candidate

            Anyone know of a package that I could use and the terminal input? older version? I'm hearing that there is a Wheezy package, version 1.2.49 does work on this build of mint (Debian, Stretch).

            How would I install or grab this version in terminal? worth a try.

              @muttleyloz The issue is the same as in the 1st post - the package libpng12-dev is not availabel in your distribution (or any recent Debian derivative).
              Please provide the output of the command I mentioned earlier, run it from a terminal, on the command line, and provide the output. Once we know how your distribution identifies itself, we can add it to the list of exceptions so this issue will not appear.

                sorry for the late reply,

                I ran the command line and this is what is shown;

                LinuxMint
                LMDE 3 Cindy
                3
                cindy

                Thanks

                  It seems LinuxMint support is not taking LMDE into account. @buzz can we add support for LMDE3 (derived from os_ver) as being a Debian Stretch derivative ?

                    @mitu yeah. Will add it based on info above.

                    Might need to set as Debian Sid. But that's no different with our current logic anyway.
