At wits end. Controller won’t work in ROMs
-
All, i got a set of innex usb snes controllers https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N7ANDLC/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_c_api_7w6UBbEBNKXKP
I got these ones because several have used them in the reviews on the Pi 3 B+. They work fine in the GUI I can map buttons no problem, Config retro pie, all with no issue. But once I get into a rom nothing. I have tried a different emulator, re configuring the controller, deleting the config file, I have googled the issue but can’t find anything specific to RetroPie 4.4. I get no errors when the rom loads and if I configure the keyboard it works fine in the rom.
I started fresh and re installed everything, updated, and still no dice. Any ideas?

@b4tn Please include the info requested in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first when opening a support topic.
When you do the test, which emulator are you testing ? Are both controllers plugged in ?

Sorry,
Pi 3 B+
Canakit 5v 2.5 amp
RetroPie version 4.4
Build from pre made image RetroPie website RetroPie-4.4-rpi2-rpi3.img via etcher.
Connected devices: controller and Bluetooth keyboard
Innexx snes usb controller
No errors
Emulator: "lr"lr-fceumm"
At the time only one of the controllers is connected to port 0 and the emulator is "lr-fceumm"

@b4tn Can you disconnect the keyboard completely and start a game again ? You keyboard might be chosen as Player 1 and P2 is the controller.

Of all the stupid things. I never thought to unplug the keyboard. Both controllers work as long as the keyboard is not plugged in.
