Pi Model or other hardware: 3
      Power Supply used: 2A
      RetroPie Version Used : 4.4
      Built From: retropie-4.4-rpi2_rpi3.img.gz
USB Devices connected: 64GB USB stick
      Controller used: PS1
      Error messages received: none
      Emulator: PlayStation 1
      How to replicate the problem:

Use scraper to get metadata for games.
(thumbnails only. source: thegamesdb. download videos: disabled)
Now when trying to run game, if I select either any other platform it works. If they have metadata, the artwork shows fullscreen and then if I press circle (A) again, the game starts. If it doesn't have metadata, it goes straight into the game.
If I try to run a game that has metadata, it shows the fullscreen image, but the controller becomes unresponsive and I have to press 'E' on the keyboard to get it to start the game.
      Thanks.
      Luke

I solved this with the following steps

        Run Command Editor.

        Launch Menu > Disabled
        Launch Menu Art > Disabled
launch Menu Joystick Control > Enabled
