    Hey guys,
Definitely new in the realm of home arcade emulation, but I promise I looked all over for a good answer to this question before posting. Anyway, I have a Tankstick with trackball using retropie on a Rpi 3b+. I can map and use the Tankstick without much problem in the menu part of retropie, but can not get it working correctly during game play. I’ve installed the internal drivers for the Tankstick xarcade2jstck I believe it’s called, but it’s to no avail. The weird thing is that before the drivers were Installed and the Tankstick was recognized as a keyboard I could make sure and get the games to semi-playable, although I would have to use buttons from both sides of the controller to play one game. Anyway, if you guys have any information that might help me I would greatly appreciate it

Have you re-configured your controller after installing the arcade driver ? Can you please provide more info about your system as described in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

@mitu yes I remapped the buttons after installing the new drivers. After doing so I’m able to navigate the retropie menu using the buttons as I’ve mapped them, but as soon as I load a game the controller is non responsive. I’m using a canakit ras pi 3b+ running the latest version of retropie (4.4.15 I believe) with the power supply given in the canakit. I’m using lrmame2003 playing 0.78 rom sets. Thanks

@mitu I’ve also just figured out that if I remove the drivers for the Tankstick and program it as an actual keyboard I can use it as long as I program the keys through the internal menu of the game itself, but I am unable to exit the game thereafter and my controls don’t seem to save after powering off the ras pi. Obviously this isn’t the ideal way to play but at least it gives me hope that the buttons do actually work during game play

Is each game in Retroarch loading a "Configuration Override"? If so, you'll need to remove that .cfg file from every game or core and create a new one.
