I wanted a Gameboy border/overlay that suited my 5:4 screen, and as i couldn't find any i created one myself instead and thought why not share it :)

      Preview:
      alt text

      1600x1200 (4:3)
      GameBoy1600x1200.png
      GameBoy1600x1200.cfg

      1280x1024 (5:4)
      Gameboy5x4.png
      GameBoy5x4.cfg

      1280x960 (4:3)
      GameBoy4x3.png
      GameBoy4x3.cfg

In RetroArch Video menu on my 5:4 1280x1024 setup i chose custom aspect ratio and put these values:

      Ratio X Pos. 335
      Ratio Y Pos. 250
      Ratio Width 682
      Ratio Height 551

First and foremost, thanks for sharing your work. I welcome any 4:3 overlay, because the monitor of my upright arcade cabinet has this screen ratio.

But could you please insert the image into your post with the little picture button of the forum's editor? It's rather inconvenient having to download the picture from your link only to look at it. Thanks.

Ofcourse! That was my plan actually but must have forgot it :) I've updated the initial post now.

            Thanks! Nice work.

            edit: Oh, but 1280x1024 is 5:4. 1280x960 is 4:3.

Oh my goodness! You're right! I have a 5:4 screen thinking it was 4:3 all along :D

I made some simple adjustments and also made a real 4:3 version as well as updated the initial post once again :)

              Thanks for letting me know!

@RedFarmer And thank you for adding a 4:3 version. :D

edit: That said, which resolution is the original picture? Would it be possible to create versions in higher resolutions? (e.g. 1600x1200 which is the native resolution of my cabinet's monitor.)

Here is a handy list of resolutions sorted by ratio.

The original resolution of the layers are high enough so now updated with a (untested) 1600x1200 version :)

@RedFarmer You're just great. Thank you very much!

edit: You made a little mistake: The link to your png file is named ".cfg". :)

Thanks for the bezel, i will use it for my 5:4 monitor in my cabinet.

In my memories the power LED was Red when switched ON. Is there a reason you have this in green?

You're probably right. If you google Gameboy and choose images there are a few that has a green light but most of them are red as you mention. I should have done more research about that prior to creating them. Maybe i'll fix it and update the post when i got some time.

@RedFarmer i have trouble with the 1280x1024... the game field aspect ratio is not right... the cfg is not working original resolution was 160x144px which is 1:1.111 but your version is is almost 1:1.

I think ill try a different one or convert one 16:9 myself
