Hi all - I have a set of ROMs on CDs I made almost 20 years ago that contain .37b8 ROMs.
I also purchased from [Reference Removed] .125 set.

I want to make a set to work with (any) AdvanceMame version on my Pi3 - so that's from MAME .106 so I should be able to rebuild this, right?

First, I tried by scanning in only the .125 ROMS and rebuilding with CLRMAMEPRO which it was happy to do so...I got strange results like all kinds of missing this that and the other...noting ran on the machine.

Then I just read about needing a "rollback set." So I plan to scan in BOTH the .37b5 and the .125 sets and I SHOULD be able to get a much better .106 set yes?

      Will this work better?

The easiest approach is to simply obtain the .106 ROM set directly. Barring that, you'll need to obtain a set newer than .106, its corresponding rollback set and the .106 DAT file. Following the build instructions from there should then yield a complete .106 ROM set.

You said "it's corresponding" rollback set...not any old older one?
I have .125 and .37b5...do you think these will yield good results? How to know?

          Uhm..."simply obtain .106".....I have a question. :)

I've always only used a ROM set's corresponding rollback set when building. What's more, I always use the absolute most recent available at any time when doing so. I can't speak to the results of any other method, but I've never had an issue using that work flow.

...A question that is not allowed here in any way. Please read the forum rules.
