Roms being ignored on Daphne, Mame etc 0.78 rom set (unmerged)
-
Hello I have recently installed RetroPie 3.8.1 on a Pi 3 B+
I have mapped the roms folder to my fileserver/retropie (I didn't use /smb) and proceeded to download 0.78 roms for lr-mame2003 which I stored them all under arcadeSo the path is /home/pi/RetroPie/roms which is directred to //server/retropie
I verified the redirection works and when I go to /roms it definitely is on the file server.
Now the issue...
When I completed the download I have 4750 files showing under arcade... I tried launching galaga and hit the config button to setup the default emulator to lr-mame2003.
I then launched the game... it sits at a blinking cursor and returns...I then checked the /tmp/log file and it shows the following:

ERROR: required files are missing, the game cannot be run.I open the galaga.zip file and sure enough they are all in there...
So I then proceed to disconnect the mounting of the fileserver and copy that file locally... to /arcade on the SD.
I then try to launch it setting the default emulator to lr-mame2003 and it does the same thing.. same errors. What could be wrong with the pathing or my files?
anyone else run into this?
I am using 0.78 with lr-mame2003 as the default emulator

@jlvandusen Not sure if this helps much but my galaga.zip file which is a verified 0.78 rom doesn't have those files you refer to. Are you sure that you have a 0.78 rom set?

@jlvandusen Neither does mine. Check this post to make sure you have things set correctly.
https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/2859/how-to-use-mame-with-retropie-help-guideAre you sure you are running mame2003? Is that the full contents of the log file?
