I'm wanting to use "kiosk" mode to lock down my Retropie install so others using the system can't change settings, peruse the file system, etc.

I noticed that the "kids" mode hides this Retropie configuration choice from the list, but it isn't a good fit since there doesn't appear to be a bulk method for setting my hundreds of ROMs to show in that mode. And I'd have to remember to set any new ROMs I add to also show in kid mode.

I've searched around and watched a few videos on removing it from the list, but they suggest things like commenting out that emulator in the config file or installing its package.

Here is a video I found that shows how to remove the package, which I don't want to do since I'd like to be able to drop into Full access mode when I want and have this choice in the list of emulators.

This is the article I found that describes how to comment that "emulator" out, which I'd also rather not do, for the same reason.

I am hoping there is a better way and that I just haven't discovered it. Any help steering me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You can set each config as hidden. That will hide the retropie menu in kiosk mode and bring it back in full mode.

This should be fixed to the top of the world. Thank you very much for the hiding trick for each option on the config menu. So simple yet no one ever thinks of it

Can you please expand on the steps for this? It is exactly what I am trying to do (retropie menu is present in full mode, gone in kids/kiosk). I've been removing the package but this is not ideal.

@Kyle i just deleted the retropie configs from the system.es and do changes only by using the terminal.
As far as i change things not too often this works perfect for me.

@sirhenrythe5th Thanks for the reply! I am not opposed to doing something else like hooking up a keyboard. The post a couple up seems to imply that it's possible to hide it in kiosk mode. That is really where I would like to get to. I just don't know where to update the configuration for that.

@Kyle the way I said you press select on each config and select edit this game. In that option there’s an option to select hidden on or off. Set it it on.

I've never tried pressing select on the RetroPie menu selections/"games". Huh.
