So I have a raspberry pi 3 model b, and I just bought a good sd card, and tried flashing retro pi on it. However, I am getting a rainbow screen every single time, no matter what I try.

      What I've tried:
      -boot_delay=1
-I have a canakit power supply, so it's good
      -Flashing the image multiple times
-Not formatting when Windows prompts me to
-Holding SD card in the pi
      -Using different image flashing programs
      -Using different SD cards
-Using different SD card formatting programs, including the partition editor

I can't think of what the problem might be, and I really need to get this to work. Any help appreciated.

The RPI also gets very hot even though all it is doing is showing the rainbow screen, like it is running the program, but just not displaying it properly.

@dayvolk I don't know what the problem is but I would see what happens installing and booting into raspbian to see if that will work. It sounds like a bad power supply but without a meter to test it, it's just a guess. I've had them go bad. Can you swap out the power supply?

@dayvolk Just to confirm you are using the correct retropie image for the pi3?
