      Hi all,

Im having some trouble with the controller and keyboard configs on Vice on Retropie. I can load all of the various games but for the love of God I cannot get (any) of my various controllers to work. (ps3 controller and madcatz fightstick alpha which both work fine with mame, etc)

I have looked at Github and followed the instructions on there as well as several youtube videos but it just will not work. Ive changed the ports, mapped the joysticks but it just won't work, apart from one random time playing Falcon Patrol II when it worked fine. (so I know it should work)

I've also tried installing lr-vice but for some reason that won't install (everything else does) and it comes up with the error message "could not successfully build lr-vice c64 emulator port of VICE for libretro (/home/pi/RetroPie/tmp/build/lr-vice/vice_x64_libretro.so not found).

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong or not doing as it's driving me crazy.........

PS - CBM button as escape doesn't work either so I can't start some games even though they've loaded fine.

Please add more info about your system - https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first. What version of Vice you have installed.

@mitu raspberry pi 3, RetroPie 4.4.4 and the standard version of c64 emulator vice from the “optional packages” menu. Was updated earlier this week.

@venkman383 Can you try installing from source the vice package, instead of binary ? Or did you already installed from source ?

                    Hi,
Do a search on YouTube for Sir Randal Commodore 64. He has a video step by step for configuring VICE and it’s never failed me. The only thing that appears not to be working with the new VICE is the joystick swap feature

I’m having major issues with the newest version of vice. As soon as I start trying to map the dpad of my Logitech f710 I get up to the down option then I cat move up and down to map others. I assign a button on the controller as MAP and suddenly almost every button becomes a map button. Something is screwed up in the back end with controller configs somewhere. All other emulators and games work fine with these controllers and so did the old version of vice under 4.3 retropie

                      Driving me crazy too

                                Hi all,
Looks like the creators of VICE did an update and resolved the issues. Performed an update from binary and all fixed :) The turbo setting under speed did manage to get turned on. Turned this off and now running great!!
