Need help/advice with Controller - Select / "A" button
-
I am putting together my first RetroPie system using an Adruino Lorenzo controller with joystick & buttons. I have the Joystick working, but I cant get any of the switches (buttons) to actually start a game. If I used the keyboard, I would simply hit the "A" key. How do I set up the controller to mimic the "A" button or actually Select a game??
Thanks!! -
I am using an Arduino Leonardo controller and have the joystick working. I have double checked the other connections and don't see anything that's out of place tho...

RetroPie boots up and I using the joystick I can move across L & R to the different systems (MAME, NES, retropie, etc), but I cant select anything.
I need an "A" button, or similar to select a game.

I need to use the keyboard to get into a game by pressing "A" and also use the back "B" button, but once I'm in a game, all the buttons work fine. But I need help with the controller to mimic the "A" button and "B" button.

@Shane1 That's not really a RetroPie related question, but more of a programming/hardware question about your controller and how it should be set-up.
Is your controller identified as a gamepad by Emulationstation in the input configuration dialog ? How did you set it up - what configuration have to done in Raspbian to get it recognized ?
Can you give more details about the controller hardware and how it's connected to the PI, etc.
