    I'm hoping someone here can help me out, as I've been banging my head for quite a while now.

    I use an 8bitdo NS30 pro controller. Everything worked perfect until one day I updated retropie/system. Ever since then all roms were taking about a minute to load for some reason. I went searching online and was advised to update my controllers firmware. I updated to the latest firmware, but still no luck. I then read I'm supposed to select the create udev rule for my controller since I use an 8bitdo controller. I did that, but still no luck. About a week went by so I decided to update everything again and see if maybe updates fixed things. Well now the time to load a rom seems to have doubled the already slow time. Am I doing something wrong? I'm trying to avoid blowing away the sd card and starting over.

    I should add that if I use a wired controller the roms load at what I would consider a normal amount of time

      Please add more information about your system - https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.
      Have you tried resetting your controller and pairing it again ? There's no need to add any rules, just update your firmware and make sure the controller is started in a compatible mode (since the controller can start as Andrioid/PC/Switch compatible).

        @mitu Sorry, I thought I provided quite a bit of detail. Here's what you asked

        raspberry pi 3
        cana kit power supply
        using pre-build sd image downloaded from the website

        I've tried removing the controller, and pairing, I've reset the controller, I'm on the latest firmware

        I power the controller on in X-input mode

          Since you updated and using X-Input mode, try also updating the xpad driver from the RetroPie-Setup script. Reboot after updating the driver.

            @mitu xpad was updated about an hour ago when I decided to update the system again. Anyways your question about compatible inspired me to try D-input mode, and now I'm loading roms in the normal time. Weird that x-input still won't work, but at least I have it working again.

              @carc1n0gen

              I'm having the same issue, could you please tell me how you switched to D-input mode? Also, would it work for the Gpi case? Thank you carc1n0gen

                @goldenagenerd Please don't necro post on old topics. Open a new topic instead describing your problem and add the info requested in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.
