I built myself a PiGRRL 2 so that I can play while away with work but given the screen is only 320x240 and 2.8" most themes are to small to read clearly on the screen. I have adapted the Simple theme to allow it to display on the very small screen while retaining most of the features and a few changes. I have put it up in Github:

      https://github.com/smartroad/es_theme_pigrrl

I am no graphic designer/artist so this is mostly positional changes along with a single backdrop for the main menu to lower load times!

Does anyone know an easy way to get a screen grab from the Pi so I can pop some images up here?

I'm new to using the linux terminal, how would I download this? "git clone https://github.com/smartroad/es_theme_pigrrl"? How do I install it?

Drop to the command line. Type

                CD etc/emulationstation/themes

                And then

                Git clone "repository"
                (Put your repository location here)

@Belowstupid the other place is to put it into home/pi/.emulationstation/themes

You may need to create the themes directory with mkdir

Don't forget the '.' in front of the emulationstation as it is a hidden directory. Using this method saves having to sudo anything as it is a user directory and not a root controlled directory.

Let me know what you think. I am away on work so haven't been able to get screenshots done yet!

@smartroad It's a nice alternative to carbon centered. The only things I would change is making the text a little brighter in each game section, the size is great but it's dark(maybe it's my screen). The second is I'd like to use the backdrops that are in the standard simple.
