You were scammed even if you did it willingly. And it wasn't just you, every person who has contributed to the retropie project was also scammed and is just one more straw you added to the camel's back in associated the project with piracy by rewarding those who steal for their own personal gain.

@Scrooge80 you're insulting the people who develop the software you are using. Software they make for free, and then someone turns around and sells for a profit. Instead of being apologetic about it, you have an attitude. When you are in someone else's house it's usually polite to play by their rules.

@Scrooge80 I'm not sure you've signed up to this forum with the right intentions, or the right attitude. I mean in your first post you talk about buying an illegal premade image, and then you insult one of the forum admins! My advice (take it or leave it) if you want to be taken seriously on this forum then refrain from the above in future. By all means discuss the games you used to play, and provide help to others if you can, but leave the rest out of it. Else you'll be branded as someone who has joined just to cause trouble.

@grant2258 The original poster was indeed an asshole and that's pretty much the only insult I find in this topic (did I miss anything ?). I'm not a native english speaker, so for me this remotely qualifies as swearing - but maybe I'm wrong.
I think the general tone of the topic was pretty mild compared to other trolling attempts I've seen in other places and I didn't think that any warning was needed. -
just think the little words can be filtered out and still be readable for the younger ones on here is all. All ages play emulation I guess im old school when it comes to that kind of stuff
