@trusto481 Your image link is not working. The NES mini supported resolutions seem to be there ones, so if your resolution is not there, the theme might not look correctly.

@trusto481 What resolution do you have exactly ? It doesn't look like 1280x1080 to me.

I have the resolution to 1280 pal the problem and that if I choose another the screen gets small and I only see the central theme but I see it well my tv and hd not full hd
I forgot to mention that the raspberry pi0 5: 3 format is set as the resolution
if instead I set it in 4: 3 or 16: 9 image I always see it as a zoom type

Can you put it in pixels ? Haven't heard about 1280 pal resolution. Anyway, check the link from my first post to see what the NES mini theme supports as far as resolutions are concerned and find one that fits you, then modify the layout.xml file in the theme folder accordingly.

@trusto481 Copy the theme from the system folder to your own folder from the command line, exiting Emulationstation first:

                  mkdir -p $HOME/.emulationstation/themes
                  cp -a /etc/emulationstation/themes/nes-mini $HOME/.emulationstation/themes

then you can edit the file in the theme folder over file shares from your PC, by opening the \\retropie\configs\all\emulationstation\themes\nes-mini folder and editing the file I mentioned.

You have to edit the file (layout.xml) to change the resolution of the theme. The commands will just create a copy of the theme in a place where you'll be able to edit the file.
                      So you need to

                      1. Exit Emulationstation by using it's menu (press Start and use the Quit menu) or pressing F4 on the keyboard
                      2. Execute the commands using your keyboard.
                      3. Open the file (layout.xml) in Notepad++ and edit it to change the resolution. This part you can do it over File shares, from your PC. You can find the file at the location I mentioned.

If you can't follow these directions, I'm afraid I can't be clearer that this.

I don't quite understand - you changed 1920 to 1920 ? Did you manage to edit the file or you changed the TV's resolution ?

I solved by changing only the resolution with the one on the read me that you showed me ...
the problem was that I had set the resolution not compatible with that of the theme
