Questions like this typically would be already answered officially on the blog rather than alluded to first in someone's question, though. :p
-
@meleu Nice ! Are the achievement badges working in the RGUI menu driver, or just XMB/Ozone ?
-
Hello,
Retroarch 1.7.7 is released last weekend, any new about the release of retropie 4.5 ?
-
@michel30 I don't think 1.7.7 has been released yet I don't see an announcement on their page, just some features for the upcoming release.
EDIT: I see that the binaries are updated, but there's no 1.7.7 tag in their Github repository.
-
Asking for updates will not speed things up. I will be looking at sorting retroarch update this week.
If you want the latest retropie you can try a weekly build

It will work for all menu drivers.
-
@meleu That's great - thanks for your work on the RetroAchievements integration !
-
@meleu Yeah. Thanks from me also!
-
@BuZz Will to new Drastic be added/linked to so the new version can be downloaded since permission was given for RP to use it?
-
@mat probably not.
-
@BuZz That's a shame. Whatever your reasons are..this is your project.

I tested some modifications here to get the new version building - might be useful.
-
@mitu Looks like there a some issues with the gl core and widgets. 1-7-7 stable some issues
Edit:
-
@Rion Yes, there have been a few issues post 1.7.7, but I'm more interested in this issue which affects ARM systems. The GL Core video driver would be enabled only on x86, so the issue might pop-up there.
EDIT: Looks like the overlay + menu widgets has been reproduced and logged (#8718).
-
@BuZz How come? would it be as simple as pointing to the link to download? Others have confirmed it works on Pi.
-
Yea 1.7.7 seems really buggy on all systems not ideal for a stable release but these things happen
-
I may hold off on incorporating 1.7.7. libretro team referred to it as an alpha so maybe best to wait until some of the issues have been ironed out.
-
@BuZz indeed the libretro folks are ditching 1.7.7 and is best to wait for a more stable release.
From Discord:
Autechre Today at 7:54 AM
just a heads up to everybody
I turned on the release cycle again
there is a very crucial bugfix for WiiU - it had the propensity to crash on start beforeThere are also numerous reports of crashes and issues with 1.7.7. I guess it was rushed.
-
@meleu Really cool to know! :D
