PowerBlock stopped working ("t-t-t-t-t..." noise)
-
The PowerBlock is used in a classic RetroPie hardware setup with a Raspberry Pi 3 B. I purchased the PowerBlock in December 2017. The RetroPie has been used occasionally since then, for most of the time it has been completely detached from the electric socket.
Now the PowerBlock stopped working, the Raspberry Pi 3 B does not boot. The PowerBlock makes a silent sound like a very quick "t-t-t-t-t..."-sequence, and the power LED is not on. The PowerBlock board and its parts look intact. Supplying the Raspberry Pi 3 B directly with power works.
I have checked the PowerBlock with another old Raspberry Pi B - again no boot with "t-t-t-t-t...", but there I can see the power LED flickering.
I appreciate any help and hints. - Thanks!

Sounds as if the hardware got damaged somehow.
Can you post a picture of your hardware setup here?

The complete setup (RetroPie in SNES) is here: https://sslsites.de/superpie.3kelvin.de/index.html.
The PowerBlock looks now as:

The referenced page in the previous post contains a part list, and there is an image gallery (second half of pictures are of interest).

Any help or hint?
Before buying a new PowerBlock I would like to understand what has happened here. I mean, 20$ for two, three dozen switch actions gets a little expensive in the long term. Let alone the annoying disassembling and assembling.

I can offer you to send you a replacement for free. would you please contact me via email for that?

@petrockblog
Thanks for your offer, I appreciate it.
I have sent an e-mail to your info e-mail-address at petrockblock.com. -
PowerBlock arrived yesterday. Thanks.
I will report if I have mounted it in my device. -
So, I have mounted the PowerBlock and I have tested it for some days. It works almost as expected, spordically it shows unexpected behaviour. I will create a separate thread explaining my observations.
Anyway, thanks for supplying me with a replacement device.
Contributions to the project are always appreciated, so if you would like to support us with a donation you can do so here.
