CRT tweaking Retropie

Hi there retropie folks, I finally got my pi up and running on my home CRT, and games are looking great, but I would like to tweak the images because there are black borders around the edges of some Genesis games. Comix Zone, for example.
Below is from my config. The catch is, I'm not sure if I can alter this stuff without messing up the stuff I am getting correct.
