On my Raspberry Pi 3B, I ran an update and my controller stopped working in games and I couldn't hit start or select.

Reset the input and the problem still happened.

Plugged in a different controller and it worked just fine...

      Any suggestions?

@Drakaen391 Without any details on what version of RetroPie and what controller are you using, it's hard to diagnose or find out why your controller stopped working.

Its the latest (4.4+) I just updated it today remotely via ssh (sudo apt upgrade)

It's still not enough info to diagnose the problem - https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.

If you updated your packages only, that might have updated the kernel without updating any of the drivers in RetroPie. I suggest you run also a RetroPie update, if you haven't done so.
